Why Are There Ads For Prescription Drugs?

If you have a sudden decrease or loss of vision or hearing, stop taking... not another one! I think most people are perturbed after viewing prescription drug advertisements but would be even more upset if they realized that this form of marketing is only legal in one other country.

Embryonic First Impressions

I love The Flaming Lips; well, everything they’ve done since Clouds Taste Metallic that is. With the exception of a few songs, their early stuff just doesn’t really appeal to me much. I’d describe the band’s current music as a crazy mix between Pink Floyd and Radiohead. The music definitely pays homage to the 60s and 70s, which is at this point my favorite music era – I have more favorite groups from that time ...(Read More)

The Downward Spiral of Facebook

While Facebook's user base has grown substantially over the years, I think the quality of the site has degraded just as quickly. I've had a Facebook account since the very early days and it was much better back then. I think the time is right for a more innovative social networking site and wouldn't be surprised to see another site gain in popularity within the next two years.

Keynesian economists, such as the popular Paul Krugman, who now writes for the New York Times, often trump the Austrian economists in the news even though they have everything backwards. Outspoken economists and ...(Read More)

A Brief Analysis of Ingmar Bergman’s Fanny and Alexander

Atop my list of favorite films sits the late Ingmar Bergman's "final" film Fanny and Alexander. The following analysis was done as a final for my college film history course; a highlight of my college career. I probably would have gone a bit deeper with the article but we were limited to a certain number of pages. My scandinavian roots take hold in what is to me, a completely gripping drama masterpiece of the finest quality.
